Beauty Tips You Can Apply At Home

If you want to maintain a healthy and radiant skin, then a few simple additions to your beauty routine at home can make a big difference.
Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise
It is recommended that you cleanse, tone and moisturise twice daily; following the routine below and once a month see your beauty therapist for a deep cleansing facial.
In the morning:
Two cleanses - A first cleanse to remove dirt and a second cleanse is to thoroughly clean deep into the skins follicles.
Tone - People forget that toning is very important as it will bring your PH balance back to 5.5 after a cleanse. Without toning, you can leave the skin at the wrong PH balance. Your toner can also aid pore tightening and the removal of excess traces of your cleanser.
Moisturise - Is your skin dry or producing excess oils?
Choose a moisturiser suitable for your skin type and choose one with a SPF minimum of 20 in it. You can always mix your sunscreen with your moisturiser! Moisturising twice a day will keep your skin smooth, supple, hydrated and leaving your skin looking radiant!
Repeat these steps in the evening removing dirt, make up and daily pollution that's been sitting on your skin, by doing these simple steps you will be preventing blemishes and blocked pores.
Exfoliate
This should be done twice weekly, in the evening after cleansing; choosing a suitable product for your skin type.
Exfoliating is an important part of your weekly routine as it aids in skin cell renewal as it removes dead skin cells. It becomes extremely important to remove this layer of dead skin in order to reveal a fresh looking revitalised skin. It also helps to unclog pores; keeping them small and refined and leaving the skin luxuriously soft and smooth. When exfoliating make sure the skin is wet and gently rub in circular motions avoiding the eye area!
Face Masks
Do you have a little time to spare just before your evening TV programme starts?! Well you can make up your very own home made masks...
Suffering from dry, dehydrated skin? These simple ingredients found in your cupboard can help this: egg yolks, avocado, honey, dark chocolate, banana, and olive oil.
Use a base ingredient such as oats and a natural Greek yoghurt to help keep the mixture together!
All these ingredients are a great way of locking in moisture and help smooth the skin. To maintain this try using a face mask once a week!
For those suffering from oily skin or just an oily T-Zone, why not try these following ingredients...
  • Any type of red berried fruit i.e. strawberries, raspberries, cranberries etc
  • Egg whites
  • Lemon juice
  • Apples ( grated)
  • Carrots ( cooked and mashed, adding a little honey)
Again, mixing these ingredients with oats and a little Greek yoghurt will help bind the mixture.
These ingredients act brilliantly as an astringent so stripping away any excess oils, leaving the skin feeling super clean and soft!
Why not combine these masks to treat different problem areas of the skin. For example, if you suffer from just an oily T-Zone but the cheeks and neck feel a little dry, then apply egg whites/strawberries to the forehead and nose and leaving the nourishing ingredients e.g. avocado etc for the cheeks and neck - making a great 'Combi' mask!
By following these simple beauty tips, you can maintain a soft, radiant and healthy skin.
